How many of you started this New Year with a list of resolutions? I’m not one for ‘resolutions’ per-se, but I did wake up to the New Year with a renewed motivation. Specifically for my chase after The Lord. The honest (and ugly, if we’re being honest) truth is that life changed in a drastic way for me several months ago. Things became beautifully complicated. Rather than moving in closer to Jesus, I’ve been going through the motions. The result? A soul left unfulfilled. And so, I’m taking an opportunity to pause and re-group…and get back to basics. Quiet time in prayer. Pouring over the pages of my Bible. And a devotional which challenges me to pursue daily acts of kindness.
In fact, that’s exactly what it’s called! The One Year Daily Acts of Kindness Devotional. Authored by Julie Fisk, Kendra Roehl, and Kristin Demery.
I’m only three days in, but so far, I’m loving this reminder that one of the most obvious ways others can see Jesus in me is through kindness.
I wonder if you might join me?
The devotional will help guide you with suggestions and ideas, as well as give you a dose of scripture daily. It will challenge you to push beyond your comfort zone to extend kindness in ways, and to people, you might not otherwise.
Not that you have to purchase the devotional (it’s certainly a great option, and you can link directly to purchase from amazon with this link). Perhaps with or without the devotional you can accept a challenge to find opportunities to extend kindness every day?
You know? Do your part to make this world a slightly brighter place. One day. One act of kindness at a time.
Jot in the comments section below if you are up for the challenge, and then I’d like to check in with the group periodically to see what sort of awesome is happening out there!
