• Preparing for Fall 2020: Medicine Cabinet

    As you are aware, I’ve been busy preparing for Fall 2020…as best I can among all the uncertainty we face. This past week I made the time to go through our medicine cabinet. After tossing anything that was expired I took inventory of what we had on hand and returned everything worth saving in an organized fashion. This gave me a better idea of what needs purchased before we get to cold/flu/corona season. Corona Season. It’s going to be a ‘thing’ now, yes? The pandemic gave me the extra nudge to get this done but I think it’s wise to ensure medicine cabinets are appropriately stocked before illness strikes anyway.…

  • Spring Clean & Organize 2020

    This is perhaps the strangest Spring in my existence…inability to leave home, good luck locating bleach and paper products, trapped without any break from exhausting little kids, having my hands so full I don’t know if I’m coming or going. And yet…the sunshine and warm weather nudges me to de-clutter, organize and get a deep clean going. Add to it that I haven’t really been able to do so for a couple of years. First it was foster kids coming into our lives, followed quickly by a very high risk pregnancy that landed me on bedrest for 15 weeks. Then it was adjusting to life with three little ones. Excuses.…

  • A Mountain of Toys: The Toy Rotation Begins

    We celebrated our Christmas holiday in Nebraska; with our foster kiddos. It was an exciting time as it was the first opportunity for many to meet the little ones. That excitement translated in to LOTS of wonderful gifts – clothes and toys. A mountain of toys. So many that we couldn’t even get it all in the SUV to return home! With BOTH kids’ birthdays hot on the heels of Christmas (birthdays = more toys) I needed a plan for how to make organizational sense out of all this stuff!! And so begins the toy rotation.
