I’m coming at you again with another project for Valentine’s Day.
It’s our third and final for the month.
Our last activity comes to you straight from the Dollar Store.
These fun kits leave little in the way of prep. I added only a couple shirts that I’ll put on the kids to keep the paint off their clothes and jars for water.
Pending how crazy your kiddos go with the paint, clean-up has potential for being quite simple as well: I just toss the paint and cheap brushes that come with the kit in the trash and find somewhere to display the finished products.
And because I’m saving this project for February 14th, I don’t have finished products to share with you…but I will!
Added to our activity and continued lesson on LOVE we’ll read The Invisible String:
This one is actually tagged under “grief and loss” – so the lessons contained within are wide-spread. What I love about the book is the way in which connections of love are described as an invisible string: we don’t have to SEE it to KNOW IT’S THERE. We feel it in our hearts.
Same as we don’t have to SEE God to know He exists; we simply have to have FAITH. And knowing God means knowing LOVE, for God IS love!
And, our associated Bible Verse to accompany the activity:
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.1 John 4:8 (ESV)
We will continue our discussion and learning on LOVE well after Valentine’s Day passes us by but this has been a great opportunity to turn a commercialized holiday into a wonderful lesson.
Now it’s time to get the creative juices flowing once again to come up with our next round of holiday themed activities (St. Patty’s Day!).
